Wellness is an individual’s unique way of caring for themselves that connects all parts of who they are and supports them in living their best life.

IF YOU ARE A HEALTH OR WELLNESS EXPERT, TELL US ABOUT IT AND HOW IT HAS IMPACTED YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY.

As a yoga guide, holistic health and wellness coach, and applied astrologist, I am constantly reading, studying, and learning both out of personal interest and as a way to make these topics and resources more accessible for people. I wholeheartedly believe that health and wellness journeys are not one size fits all and that people need to find what works for them. I spent a lot of time trying to squeeze into one box or another, whether it was a certain workout routine or way of eating. Through working with my own coaches and trying things out for myself, I’ve created practices that are sustainable and suitable for my lifestyle and that help me be me. I always tell people that I won’t change their lives, they will. I am simply here to guide and support you in finding the things that make you feel your best self.

WHAT IS ONE PERSONAL HABIT THAT CONTRIBUTES TO YOUR SUCCESS?

I practice what I preach. If I am going to share about yoga, astrology, meditation, or essential oils then I am going to get on my yoga mat, study my own birth chart, spend some time sitting with my breath, and use oils in my own life. If I don’t know something, I’m honest about it and make an effort to learn so that I can meet people where they are. I also believe in authenticity. As trendy a topic as it is these days, when it comes to my life, who you see on social media is who you meet and get in person. I aim to be as truthful and honest about my own experiences whether it be my fitness journey, motherhood struggles, or recipes, so that others know they aren’t alone and that it’s okay to share who they are, too. The messy stuff and our creature comforts are what make us who we are. I connect most and am most inspired by people being themselves and it feels best for me to do the same. My ups and downs, my wins and my mistakes make me who I am. I am grateful for all of it if it helps make someone feel a little more comfortable on their own journey.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FORM OF SELF-CARE?

My favorite form of self-care as of late is running. It helps shift my mental state in a big way and leaves me feeling empowered and strong.

IF YOU COULD SHARE A HEALTH AND WELLNESS RESOURCE WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

I highly recommend checking out stralayoga.com. It has a library of free videos ranging from yoga and meditation to Tai Chi and Shiatsu. This style of movement and being has changed my life and has a welcoming, global community that supports people and helps them find ease on and off the yoga mat.

IF YOU COULD RECOMMEND ONE BOOK AND/OR PODCAST, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

My two favorite podcasts at the moment are “Yoga Girl” and “Armchair Expert”. “Yoga Girl” Rachel Brathen is a perfect example of authenticity. She interviews interesting people and shares her own life. She also has a daily, shorter podcast that you can tune into any day of the week to get a short but sweet health and wellness fix. “Armchair Expert” is hosted by actor Dax Shepard. He interviews a wide variety of people. He is honest about his own struggles and addictions and is really great at having deep conversations with some of today’s most well-known people.
