NEW INITIATIVES PROGRAM ASSISTANT

POSITION SUMMARY:

InDependent is seeking a dedicated, organized, and efficient virtual assistant for our New Initiatives committee. In this role, s/he will work with the New Initiatives Chair to coordinate and accomplish the necessary tasks and requirements to support future projects, events and programs for InDependent. An eye for detail and a go-getter personality, ready to help synchronize all the program elements and make them operate successfully is required. The volunteer will provide weekly updates to the New Initiatives Chair and attend appropriate InDependent virtual meetings as scheduled. This person is ideally a self-starter, passionate about elevating the health and wellness of service spouses and able to work in a fast paced, remote environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Organizational Process and communication:

 

  • Be a voice in the strategic planning phase of new initiatives for InDependent
  • Assist the New Initiatives Chair in the execution of the management plan for assigned projects
  • Help coordinate and manage the program from inception to completion
  • Carry out operational tasks in an effective and timely manner
  • Gather program metrics and communicate results
  • Facilitate communications between InDependent, collaborators, and donors
  • Track and directly report program status updates to New Initiatives Chair, as required
  • Help problem-solve issues and suggest ways for  improvement
  • Organize, file, and maintain all project documents
  • Help create and adhere to project timeline and calendar
  • Maintain positive donor and collaborative relationships
  • Ensure the program is meeting the contractual agreement between InDependent, donors, and collaborators

TIME REQUIRED:

5-10+ hours per week depending on the time of year
