You’re Invited: Run to Thrive 5K Virtual Run/WalkYou are invited to participate in InDependent’s first ever virtual community run/walk. Between May 4 and May 10 we challenge you to join us in completing a 5K (3.1 miles). Let’s see how many U.S. military installations we can represent from around the world! 

The Run to Thrive 5K is hosted by Fit You Eventsin support of military spouse health and wellness. Event proceeds will be used to fund InDependent programming.

This 5K is open to military and civilian participants ages 18 and up. Location does not matter. Do it where you want, how you want, and when you want… just do it!

Here’s how you can get involved.

  1. Register for the race here. All participants will receive a custom headband and pin.
  2. Between now and race week, multiple prize opportunities are available. Register early to join the fun. Enter to win the following prizes by using #runtothrive and by tagging Fit You Events and InDependent in your Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram posts:
          • During registration: Refer five or more friends and receive free race registration. Each referral you make earns you an opportunity to win a Pivotal Living Tracker.
          • Prior to event: Post a photo of where you’ll be running from so we know which military instillation you’re representing. Participants will be entered to win a black or neon pink Fusion Wrap. 
          • Race week: Snap a selfie and be entered to win a selfie stick. 
          • Race week: Random participants who post pictures of their runs during race week will receive Bondi Bands and other door prizes.
          • Race week: Post a photo of your race time. The participant with the best time will win an Asics® Performance Running Shoes gift card courtesy of U.S. Olympian Deena Kastor.
  3. Run/walk the 5K ANYTIME and ANYWHERE between May 4 and May 10, 2015.
          • Run/walk on your own or in a group.
          • If you belong to an InDependent Community, consider running together.  
          • You can run/walk the whole race at once or split it into multiple days, for example one mile per day.
          • Run/walk on a track, in a gym, on a treadmill, or outside.
